USI Received the Award of Excellent Cases of Foreign Enterprises for Its Program, "Poverty Alleviation through Technology-powered Education"
(2018-12-10 Shanghai) On December 5, the Press Conference for the Release of the Blue Paper of Enterprises' Poverty Alleviation Actions & the 3rd Enterprises' Targeted Poverty Alleviation Red-flag Summit were held in Beijing. Together with enterprises such as Samsung, Apple and Mercedes-Benz, USI received the award of Excellent Cases of Foreign Enterprises for its program, "Poverty Alleviation through Technology-powered Education". As a leading company in the electronics sector, USI started to sponsor education and poverty alleviation programs in 2018, with a view to sponsor education programs to alleviate poverty, help poverty-stricken students to achieve their dreams and facilitate the enhancement of social equality.
This year, by sponsoring the special program named "Poverty Alleviation through Technology-powered Education", the Company donated a computer classroom respectively to five elementary schools in extremely impoverished regions in Gansu Province and Qinghai Province, including Tangwan Elementary School, Dalaozi Elementary School, Dongxin Wanquan Elementary School, Changning Wanquan Elementary School, and Jianshetang Elementary School. In those elementary schools, some computers had been broken, and the remaining few ones were only enough for teaching and public use. Although those schools had provided basic computer education courses, students had been unable to use computers due to the shortage of computers. Through the special program, students now have access to good education resources.
Knowledge is the key to poverty alleviation. To provide children in poverty-stricken regions with good access to good education is an important mission during the process of poverty alleviation, and a critical step to eliminate poverty. USI will continue to pay attention to the issue of sluggish development of information education in poverty-stricken schools in remote regions. It will help improve the education environment and provide education resources to ensure the availability of more development opportunities and better education resources for poverty-stricken students.
