USI and Its Parent Company ASE Group Co-Sponsor Cross-Strait Student Baseball League to Promote Cross-Strait Baseball Exchange
(2018-07-27) The 2nd Cross-Strait Student Baseball League midfielder rematch was held at Taichung opened at the baseball field of the National Taiwan University of Sport on July 27. This year is the second year that USI and its parent company, ASE Group, co-sponsored the Cross-strait Student Baseball League. USI Advanced Mobile and Miniaturization Solution BG GM, Albert Liu attended the opening ceremony.
USI Advanced Mobile and Miniaturization Solution BG GM, Albert Liu, received a gratification trophy on behalf of USI at the opening ceremony. In his speech, he expressed that both USI and ASE actively supported this meaningful baseball league with the expectation that students from both sides of the Taiwan Strait can strengthen their affection and learn from one another through the baseball games. He quoted Voltaire "Life is about physical exercise. It gives us a strong body, unbeatable stamina and unstoppable passion." to encourage all teams to strive for victory.
After the Consultant, Jeffrey Koo Jr of CSBECC, who also serves as the Chairman of CTBA, and Honorary Chairman of CSBECC, Peng Chenghao, who also serves as the President of Baseball Federation of Asia(BFA), threw the opening pitches and the games officially started. The first match was a Group A match between Vanung University and North China University of Technology.
The Cross-Strait Student Baseball League is divided into the qualifiers, semi-finals (2 stops at Beijing and Taiwan) and the finals. The first stop of the semi-finals was held in Beijing and Taichung is the second stop. In three days, Twenty cross-strait university baseball teams will select 6 teams of Group A and 6 teams of Group B from July 27 to 29 to enter the finals. The most exciting championship tournament will be held in Shenzhen in early December.
