From Technology to the Stage: USI Lights Up Caotun Cultural Night for Its 50th Anniversary with Ming Hwa Yuan
(2026-10-29, Nantou) Universal Global Scientific Industrial (USI-TW), a Taiwan subsidiary of USI, which is member of ASE Technology Holding, continues to deepen its corporate social responsibility efforts. In conjunction with the Caotun Straw Craft Cultural Festival, the company is once again sponsoring with the renowned performing arts troupe Ming Hwa Yuan Arts & Cultural Group to present an outdoor performance of ‘The Chivalrous Cat’ at Caotun Zhongshan Park at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 31, 2026. Local residents are warmly invited to attend.
USI-TW has long been rooted in Nantou. Beyond investing in industrial development, it has continued to take part in local cultural and public welfare activities. For many years it has supported Ming Hwa Yuan's performances, bringing traditional opera into the community and enriching residents' cultural lives. This year's performance continues the format of past outdoor events in Caotun, using an open space so that more people can attend freely, creating an accessible artistic experience with real cultural depth.
USI-TW Chairman C.Y. Wei said: "Over the past 50 years, USI-TW has continued to drive technological innovation and industrial development worldwide, but we have always believed that a company's roots lie in the land and the people it is connected to. Being able to support Ming Hwa Yuan's performances in Caotun over the long term, bringing traditional culture into the community and into every family, is meaningful and worth continuing to invest in. Seeing elders bringing children, and families enjoying the opera together, is the warmest and most genuine expression of a company giving back to society."
Ming Hwa Yuan Arts & Cultural Group Artistic Director Chen, Sheng-Fu said: "Traditional opera is a cultural asset that belongs to everyone. Performing face to face with local residents in a place like Caotun is something very precious. We thank USI-TW for its long-term support, which gives traditional opera more opportunities to enter the community and the lives of different generations. We believe that cultural heritage is not only about performances on stage but is carried on together with audiences in each moment of gathering."
At this important 50th anniversary milestone, USI-TW regards ‘giving back to society’ and ‘cultural sustainability’ as core themes, linking the company and society through a variety of events throughout the year. The company also stressed that all of its external communications in 2026 incorporate the 50th anniversary theme, showcasing its journey over half a century and its vision for the future.
USI-TW noted that while technology drives industrial progress, it should also shoulder the responsibility of preserving culture and promoting social development. By supporting Ming Hwa Yuan's performances, it enables different generations to interact in a shared artistic space, which not only brings the company closer to the community but also gives local culture fresh momentum for continued growth.
The event is also open to employees and their families, extending from within the company into the community and forming a cultural connection across settings. USI-TW emphasized that corporate development is not only about creating economic value; it also places importance on sharing long-term results with employees and society, using cultural activities to build emotional bonds and strengthen identification with corporate culture.
Looking ahead, USI-TW will use its 50th anniversary as an opportunity to deepen its ESG practices. Beyond environmental sustainability and industrial innovation, it will continue to invest in culture and education, leveraging its corporate influence to work hand in hand with the local community to build a sustainable society that combines industrial development with cultural heritage.
