USI Continues 16-Year Sponsorship of the Chinese Literary Prize for Global Youth to Support the Development of Chinese Literature
(2023-07-01, Nantou) The Chinese Literary Prize for Global Youth, established in 1980, celebrated its grand 41st award ceremony this year, again highlighting its significant position in Chinese literature. USI-Taiwan, a subsidiary of Universal Scientific Industrial (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., has been a loyal sponsor of this award for 16 consecutive years. The award ceremony took place on July 1st, with Mason Lin, Senior Vice President of USI, representing the company.
The Chinese Literary Prize for Global Youth this year has attracted enthusiastic submissions from students worldwide, receiving 1,217 works. This number sets a new record in nearly three years. The significant number of submissions from Malaysia is particularly noteworthy, surpassing 500, making it the highest number in the award's history. This reflects the vibrant development of Chinese literature beyond East Asia. In the post-pandemic era, the students' creative works care about current international affairs and reflects on life and a deep sense of care. Their writings are brimming with a touch of warmth.
The presence of five literary predecessors graced the award ceremony, Lin Dai-man, Li Chang-qing, Du Ye, Liao Yu-hui, and Lu Han-shiu. They generously shared their creative experiences and insights as judges, inspiring young students to pursuit literature. USI also encourages these students to embark on their literary journey and use words to develop their imagination, expecting them to unleash their imaginations and creativity to thrive in Chinese literature.
