Good News in USI’s Education Sponsorship Project “Hope for Pearl”
(2020-10-12 Shanghai) The results of the 2020 National College Entrance Examination came out! Initiated by Zhejiang Xinhua Compassion Education Foundation (XHEF), the "Hope for Pearl" has a total of 6,071 “Pearl Students” in 132 “Pearl Classes” of 129 partner schools nationwide, with 62.2% enrollment rate of first-tier University and 93.2% enrollment rate of undergraduate. Among them, the students who were from Luoyang No.3 Middle School in Henan Province and supported by USI achieving good results, with 100% enrollment rate of undergraduate.
In 2017, USI participated in“Hope for Pearl” for Luoyang No.3 Middle School in Henan Province initiated by XHEF, and set up the "USI Shueijin Pearl Class" consisting of 40 "Pearl Students". USI and David Lin, Corp. Senior Vice President of USI jointly funded the tuition and accommodation fees of these 40 students for three straight years. This year, these 40 students embraced one of the most important moments in their lives – the National College Entrance Examination. Despite the adverse impact brought by the pandemic of COVID-19, they actively adjusted their mindset and worked harder to overcome the challenges. Finally, they reached the undergraduate enrollment level and created great achievements.
In the past three years, in order to better care and encourage Pearl Students, 40 caring supervisors of USI wrote letters to Pearl Students to assist them grow up every year. In 2019, USI further cooperated with XHEF to arrange Pearl Students to visit Shenzhen Site of USI, with a view to provide practical advice and guidance for their career development.
During three years of diligent and assiduous efforts, Pearl Students might feel at a loss along the way. Fortunately, caring donors, lovely Pearl Students educators and all partners who care about the “Hope for Pearl” have always been at their side to give them warmth.
Over the years, USI have actively practiced corporate social responsibility, enthusiastically participated in social public welfare undertakings, and won the recognition and praise from the society with its concrete actions. USI keeps on path in practicing e corporate social responsibility to provide support for stakeholders.
