USI Included in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook for Four Years Running

(2025-02-12, Shanghai) Sustaining a CSA score of 90, USI ranked in the top 5% in the S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) 2024, securing the second-highest score among 450 companies in the Electronic Equipment, Instruments & Components Industry. This achievement marks USI’s fourth consecutive year as a member of the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook.

Over 7,690 companies across 62 industries assessed for the 2024 CSA were considered for inclusion in The Sustainability Yearbook 2025, where distinctions are bestowed to commend companies with outstanding sustainability performance. USI retained the industry’s highest score in the Environmental and Social dimensions and in the 23 criteria assessed, USI achieved the industry best in 13 of them and scored full marks in eight criteria: Transparency & Reporting, Policy Influence, Environmental Policy & Management, Energy, Product Stewardship, Human Rights, Customer Relations, and Privacy Protection.

USI’s sustainability strategy of Low Carbon, Circular, Inclusive, and Collaborative drives the company’s focus on improving energy efficiency, enhancing eco-design capabilities, and promoting low-carbon designs in our services and products. Operationally, the Board ratified the EHS & Energy Policy, aiming to balance our pursuit of high-quality products and services with environmental protection. As of 2024, USI’s Mainland China, Mexico, and Vietnam Facilities are powered entirely by renewable energy. Since 2022, we have launched a supplier carbon mentoring program, investing resources to support suppliers in obtaining greenhouse gas emissions inventory or product carbon footprint certifications.

Apart from long-term targets of using 100% renewable energy in our manufacturing sites by 2035 and achieving Net Zero Carbon Emissions by 2040, we are also ambitiously aiming for Net Positive Impact and No Deforestation by 2050. Together with our suppliers, we strive towards our carbon reduction goals, creating a green value chain.

After the Board approved USI’s Biodiversity and No Deforestation Commitment in 2023, we unveiled our Climate and Nature Risk Management Report in 2024, showcasing our proactive measures to tackle the risks and opportunities posed by changes in natural ecosystems and climate. Our long-standing partnership with Shanghai Roots & Shoots’ Million Tree Project underscores our dedication to forest conservation, soil improvement in Inner Mongolia and Ningxia, and overall biodiversity restoration. In 2024, we expanded our afforestation efforts in Vietnam’s Cuc Phuong National Park, planting Saraca dives and Magnolia hypolampra, bringing our total to 166,265 trees planted. To raise awareness and protect marine life, USI mobilized volunteers for coastal cleanups, advocating for waste reduction and the restoration of coastal wetlands. These efforts aim to achieve a harmonious coexistence with nature and create a healthy environment for future generations.

Fostering a diverse, inclusive, and safe workplace where employees can thrive is what USI strives to create. Annually, we invest over 10 million CNY in training programs to boost employees’ professional skills and competitiveness. Our comprehensive educational initiatives empower employees to excel, while our support for lifelong learning through internal degree programs helps them achieve new academic milestones. Additionally, we offer equity incentives and annual bonuses to reward exceptional performance, ensuring we attract and retain top talent.

USI remains unwavering in its commitment to sustainability; with every step we take guiding us towards a brighter future. We champion environmental stewardship and inclusive growth, embedding sustainability into our corporate DNA to honor our commitments to stakeholders. Looking forward to 2025, we will continue to delve deeply into governance, environmental, and social issues, leveraging USI’s positive influence to create sustainable value and build a lasting future.
