USI and its subsidiaries realize that “Innovation” is the key for continuous growth and considers the Intellectual Property (IP) as one of our most important assets. We not only treasure our own IP but also respect all the IP around the world.
IP Management Policies
IP in USI is considered as responsibility of each employee, we not only endeavor to lower the risk of infringement but also encourage the innovation activities internally. Company provides the greatest benefit to all of our stakeholders through the most effective IP management, and devotes itself to create an encouraging environment and management system to protect our IP:
- Manage the company's intellectual property and operational systems
- Value intellectual property protection
- Ensure core technologies are protected by intellectual property laws and regulations
- Develop key technologies
Research and Patents
In 2025, USI has 3,030 R&D employees, accounting for 13.95% of the employee population, and invested CNY 1.901 billion, accounting for 3.21% of the revenue. By adopting the PDCA continuous improvement approach, USI has established a systematic intellectual property management framework that is closely aligned with its operational and strategic objectives. At the same time, the Company continuously invests in the development of its design and R&D talent, strengthening innovation capabilities and fostering a stable and sustainable foundation for long-term research and development excellence.
R&D Spending and Intensity

In terms of patents, to encourage research, development, innovation, and enhance technology and competitiveness, USI regulars R&D competitions. In 2025, a total of 24 teams participated in the R&D incentive competition. Among them, 9 teams competed under the Successful Project category and 15 under Innovative Technology. After a rigorous evaluation process, 10 teams were awarded.
In 2025, the cumulative number of effective granted patents stood at 620, and the cumulative number of approved patent applications reached 1,744. The patents obtained in the last four years are shown in the figure.

Furthermore, regarding USI's electronic manufacturing and service technologies patent portfolio, USI has been granted 257 patents in Mainland China, 238 patents in Taiwan, 111 patents in the U.S.A, 12 patents in the Europe and 2 patents in other countries.

Green Product/Design (Clean Technology) Proposals
The Company further encourages employees to submit relevant design proposals to participate in R&D competitions, enabling them to obtain enhanced incentives and secure intellectual property rights more effectively. In 2025, total 7 of the “Green Product/Design Proposals” and have passed internal patent review meetings.
