【Tech x Literature】The 42nd Chinese Literary Prize for Global Youth: Supported by USI Global and ASE Cultural and Educational Foundation
The Chinese Literary Prize for Global Youth is entering its 42nd year, and the event is jointly supported by the ASE Cultural and Educational Foundation and USI Global. This year, Mr. Wei-Jin Lee, the Director of the USI President Office, represented USI at the award ceremony to congratulate the award winners.
The award presentation ceremony was held on June 29th at the Hongdao Building of Ming-Dao High School, and the day was full of exciting activities. In the morning, Ming-Dao High School had a seminar on “a Literary Salon”, inviting guests from the field of literature, such as masters like Wu Sheng, Liao Huiying, Lu Hanxuan, Chen Yizhi, Chen Xinghui, and Li Changqing, to share with the students their own experience in creative writing and to observe the life from heart, which opened a new chapter in the ceremony.
The prize organizer received 1,098 submissions this year, of which 357, or nearly one-third, came from overseas. To promote the development of global Chinese literature and encourage more emerging writers, the first prize was increased by $20,000 this year. Meanwhile, two excellent selection prizes were added in each category this year.
The Chinese Literary Prize provides a stage for youths from all over the world to showcase their literary talents. For the 17th consecutive year, USI has been participating in this meaningful event, not only devoting ourselves to the development of technology but also actively supporting literature.
Throughout the competition this year, students showed their extraordinary talents. One student won the award in “Short Story”,” Essay”, and “New Poem”,” while another three won double awards, proving that students have not only achieved success in a single literary genre but also developed in a diversified direction. USI encourages students to continue their creative work and looks forward to seeing more talents shining in the Chinese literary arena in the future.
